Harvested with respect and care

Sustainability underpins how we fish, who we work with and the choices we make every day. It is not a policy we refer to occasionally, but a responsibility we carry from harbour to haul. Our shellfish are sourced through methods designed to protect the health of the marine environment and the future of the fisheries we depend on. By using traditional crab pots, we are able to fish selectively, reducing seabed disturbance and avoiding unnecessary impact on non-target species.

Fishery improvement projects

Through our active involvement in the industry, we contribute to the collective effort to strengthen the brown crab fishery and support the development of sustainable, long-term management practices. We are aligned with Ireland’s Brown Crab Fishery Improvement Project (FIP), a coordinated initiative led by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) and industry partners that brings together fishers, processors, government and NGOs to drive improvements in sustainable sourcing and fisheries management. This project aims to enhance the health of the crab stock, improve data collection and work towards recognised sustainability standards over the coming years.

Certified and accountable

As members of Origin Green, Ireland’s national sustainability programme, we are committed to continuously improving our environmental performance across our operations. This is supported by our adherence to SEDEX ethical standards and certification to BRCGS, ensuring responsible sourcing, ethical practices and the highest levels of food safety and quality throughout our supply chain.
