For more than 75 years, Respa Beds has been crafting beds and mattresses from our home in Oldcastle, Co. Meath, helping families, hotels, and guests all over Ireland wake up rested & refreshed.
What began in 1947 as a local bed manufacturer has grown into one of Ireland’s most trusted sleep brands – still proudly Irish, still handcrafted, and still obsessed with comfort, quality, and doing things the right way.
Today, a Respa bed is more than a product. It’s the result of generations of know-how, modern sleep technology, and a team who genuinely cares about how you feel when you wake up. Our Heritage
Our story is rooted in Oldcastle, Co. Meath – a town with a proud furniture and bed-making tradition, and the place we still call home today.
As part of the Kellett Group, Respa has remained a family-connected business spanning three generations. From the very beginning, we committed to a simple promise: keep production in Ireland, invest in local skills, and never cut corners on quality.
We’re proud that every Respa product is designed and manufactured on site in Oldcastle. Our craftsmen and women know every stage of the process, from sourcing materials to the final quality checks, and that consistency shows in the comfort and durability of our beds.
Over the decades, we’ve grown from supplying local customers to partnering with leading retailers and iconic hotels across Ireland and the UK – but our roots haven’t changed. We’re still 100% Irish, still hands-on, and still driven by the same belief: if it carries the Respa name, it should feel like home from the very first night.
We are also proud members of The National Guild of Master Craftsmen – an acknowledgement of the skill, care, and attention to detail that goes into every product we make.
Craftmanship & Innovation
At Respa, craftsmanship isn’t just a word – it’s what happens on our factory floor every day.
Our team of experienced upholsterers, spring specialists, and finishers combine time-honoured hand skills with carefully controlled production processes. Every mattress, divan, and headboard is inspected and finished by people who know exactly what a great night’s sleep should feel like.
But tradition alone isn’t enough. That’s why we continually invest in new mattress technologies, materials, and testing. From advanced pocket spring systems to modern comfort layers designed for pressure relief, breathability, and long-term support, each collection is engineered to deliver lasting comfort – not just for the first few weeks, but for years.
We work closely with our retail and hospitality partners to understand how people actually sleep – in busy family homes, boutique hotels, destination resorts, and everything in between.
That insight feeds directly into our designs, helping us create products that balance durability with luxury, and practicality with pure comfort.
Sustainabilty
We believe better sleep should never come at the planet’s expense.
Over the last number of years, Respa has been actively integrating sustainability into everything we do – from the materials we choose to the energy that powers our factory. Our headboards and divan bases use FSC-certified Scandinavian timber from responsibly managed forests, creating a solid, traceable foundation for your bed.
Working with partners such as Lean Business Ireland, we’ve measured our energy, water, and waste usage, introduced clear performance indicators, and built ongoing programmes to reduce our carbon footprint and improve resource efficiency across the site.
Most recently, we’ve completed a major renewable energy upgrade at our Oldcastle headquarters, installing hundreds of solar panels across our buildings to generate clean electricity and significantly cut CO₂ emissions each year. This initiative is led by our Production Manager & Sustainability Officer, Gavin Quinn, and is part of a wider roadmap to keep pushing our environmental performance forward.

CEO – Pam Stone
Pam leads Respa Beds with a clear vision: protect and grow our Irish manufacturing base while continually improving quality, innovation, and service. With extensive experience in transforming and modernising operations, she has helped Respa invest in new systems, technology, and processes that keep us responsive to both retailers and end customers.
Head of Marketing – Darren
Our senior marketing leader, Darren, is focused on telling the Respa story in a way that’s true to our roots and exciting for today’s customer. From national campaigns and digital content to in-store point-of-sale and retailer support, his team works to make sure Respa stands out as the trusted Irish name in sleep – online, in store, and in the hospitality world.
Head of Production & Sustainability – Gavin Quinn
Gavin oversees day-to-day production in Oldcastle and leads our sustainability initiatives. Under his guidance, we’ve rolled out solar energy projects, real-time energy monitoring, and continuous improvements in waste and resource management. His role ensures that every product leaving our factory is made to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Head of Finance & Commercial – Edel
Gavin oversees day-to-day production in Oldcastle and leads our sustainability initiatives.
